Today with Christians around the world, we celebrate Good Friday. For many there will be the ceremonial carrying of the cross through the streets of the city and other reenactments. However, it all comes down to one simple truth: Jesus’ final words on the cross, “It is finished”. The prophecy has been fulfilled, our sins are forgiven.

How sad that for many it is just another Friday, or perhaps a day without school or work. An extra day to do that “Easter” shopping, buying all those chocolate bunnies and other goodies necessary to celebrate Sunday. I heard something on the news this week stating that for most this is no longer a religious holiday, but a celebration of spring.

On Sunday morning, we will rejoice in celebration of another prophecy fulfilled, the resurrection of our Lord. He’s Risen, Alleluia! We can say with certainty, “I know that my Redeemer lives!”
