What is something new in your life? I’m sure if 10 people were asked there would be 10 very different answers—a baby, a car, marriage, job, bicycle, skill or God’s grace and compassions. Lamentations 3:22-23a states, “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; . . . .”

There are many new developments in LWMS, too. This year 16 new flags were added to the flag presentation because the gospel message is reaching more people in new countries every day. There is a new endowment fund which will provide WELS Home and World Missions financial support every year. The LWMS Awareness Committee directed by the LWMS Board of Directors is creating and implementing unique programs to increase awareness of LWMS and missions to new members.

The 54th annual convention introduced us to new a new liturgy and songs such as “Create in Me” and “The Great Thanksgiving" and new mission congregations, Illumine Church and Peace Lutheran in South Carolina, and a school in East Asia.

What is something new in your life? Maybe with that new job, baby, or bicycle God will place someone new in your life to share his love and faithfulness. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 we read, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here!” Praise God for sending his Son and making us new in him!
