Circuits: 60
Notes: speakers from Zambia and the ACTS program spoke about their world missions.
Speakers from South Dakota, Canada, Texas and California spoke about home missions.
A group of four LWMS women spoke about their experience traveling to Malawi to meet with the women's groups in Africa.

Theme: All Seasons with Jesus - Ecclesiastes 3:1
Attendance: 1454
Member congregations: 905
Circuits: 60
Notes: A donor provided an opportunity for a group Lutheran Girl Pioneers and leaders to attend the convention.
A reception was held for Circuit Presidents.
Delegates voted to combine the constitution and bylaws into one document know as Bylaws.
World mission speakers were from Russia, Albania, Thailand and Taiwan.
Home mission speaker topics included the Hmong ministry, Minnesota, and campus ministry.

Notes: Circuit presidents were invited to attend the convention as a gift from a donor.
A special workshop was held for the circuit presidents.
A workshop called LWMS 101 was given.
A donor also paid for 5 members of the Mission Lights from the Antigua mission to attend.
The first kids c.a.r.e. mission check was presented.
World mission speaker topics were Indonesia, Brazil, Nigeria.
Home mission speaker topics included Outreach to Muslims, Hispanic Outreach in Alaska, and urban outreach in Washington.

Member congregations: 919 60 circuits
Notes: Circuit officers who have not previously attended a convention were invited to attend the convention as a gift from a donor. A special reception was held for circuit presidents. A donor also paid for faculty from the Michigan area high schools, the 2006 graduates of Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary and Martin Luther College and pastors in the Alpha circuit and non-member congregations in Michigan to attend the convention. World mission speakers included a national pastor from India, pastors from the Dominican Republic, and Malawi. Home mission speaker topics included Canada, St. Lucia, and English Language Outreach. Workshops were presented by Sally Valleskey, Jennifer Wolfgramm, Pastor Paul Ziemer, Roxanne and Ralph Martens, and national board pastors Paul Schossow, Duke Sonntag and Doug Tomhave.

Notes: The ad hoc Outreach Committee held its first workshop, inviting women of non member congregations in the Grand Canyon Circuit area. A donor provided a stipend for two women from each of these congregations to attend convention. Donors also provided convention stipends for Grand Canyon Circuit area teachers and pastors and for graduates of Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary who graduated from 1990-1994. World mission speakers from the Apache and Cameroon mission fields made presentations, as well as a group of four LWMS women who traveled to Nigeria to meet with the women's groups there, Home mission speakers spoke about work in two different Phoenix congregations. Workshops were presented by a missionary to Japan, Arizona missionaries wives, the LWMS Spiritual Growth, Outreach, and Long-range Planning Committees, Mission to the Children in Northern Mexico, and Bible studies by the LWMS board pastors. A special display room on the Apache mission was open throughout the convention. The Apache students presented a special play on the founding of the Apahce mission. Pastor Arthur Guenther presented a talk on the history of the Apache missions. Reach the World choir performed on Friday evening. Michael Schroeder performed Satuday. The Arizona Lutheran Academy choir sang during the flag recessional. The Portugal flag was added to the flag display and flags from the White Mountain and San Carlos Apache reservations replaced the Arizona state flag to represent our Apache missions. The handcrafted altar and lectern used at convention will be donated to Mission to the Children in Northern Mexico.

kids c.a.r.e. mission project: $40,158.90 - Mission to the Children in Northern Mexico. This offering was matched by a grant from the Antioch Foundation for an additional $25,000.
Worship Service Offerings: $28,010.54 equally divided between home mission project #2008-04 Language Training and world mission project #2008-20 Asia Lutheran Seminary.

Forty-sixth - June 25-28, 2009

Denver, Colorado Sheraton Hotel

Theme: "Missions with an Altitude" Psalm 62:2
Attendance: 989
Member congregations: 916
Notes: Mission speakers presented on Navajo, Vietnamese, Colorado and Asian mission work while the home and world mission administrators updated attendees on current and future mission plans. Choirs from the Vietnamese mission, Peace in Jesus in Boise Idaho, Rocky Mountain Lutheran High School and the Apache mission sang. LWMS board pastors presented Bible studies. Other speakers presented workshops on CAMM, Outreach to Mormons and Muslims, "Mission Altitude Adjustment," mission outreach in Colorado, missionary life in Mexico and "LWMS with an Altitude." Flags from Pakistan and Nepal were added to the flag display. Time of Grace Ministry held an open house. A special talk on military missions was offered Friday evening. The circuit presidents were asked to attend a president's forum and the circuit treasurers met with the LWMS board treasurer. The Central Office booth offered new pins and window clings with the LWMS logo.

Member congregations: 910 congregations ~ 1 Individual Member Notes: Mission speakers presented on Malawi, Southeast Asia, Latin American Traveling Theological Educators (LATTE), and home mission work in Missouri and Iowa. LWMS board pastors presented Bible studies. Other speakers presented workshops on child care ministry, Hmong ministry, Manhattan, Kansas, Japan and using LWMS by the Spiritual Growth Committee. Thirty-three flags were presented.

LWMS board pastors presented Bible studies. Other speakers presented workshops on Multi-Language Publications, Russia, Campus Ministry, local mission work with Chinese and the Outreach Committee. Thirty-three flags were presented.

Notes:  Mission speakers presented on world mission work in Native American and Latin American Traveling Theological Educators (LATTE) fields and home mission work with the military in North Carolina, Antigua and New York. LWMS board pastors presented Bible studies. Other speakers presented workshops on aid and relief and home missions in Virginia.  Thirty-seven flags were presented.

Notes: Mission speakers presented on mission work Black River Falls Wisconsin, Asia, St. Paul, Minnesota, Haiti and an LWMS mission trip to Nepal. LWMS board pastors presented a Bible study. Other speakers presented workshops sharing Jesus with Spanish-speaking neighbors and Muslim women, as well as after school children’s programs and mission work in Mexico. Thirty-seven flags were presented. A museum area shared information on 50 years of LWMS.
