The LWMS Awareness Committee has met via teleconference and has a face-to-face meeting set for January 2012. The committee presented the following as their purpose:  As our Lord commanded us, his disciples, to go into the world and spread the good news of salvation to all, the leaders and members of the Lutheran Women’s Mission Society (LWMS) work to support mission work through the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). Recognizing that the organization can only be as strong as its members, the LWMS Board of Directors has assigned the LWMS Awareness Committee to do as follows:

  • Suggest and develop ways to help maintain member retention.
  • Suggest and develop ways to promote LWMS to member congregations, non-member congregations and other special groups.
  • Provide the Board of Directors with long-range goals for the organization and suggest ways to carry out these goals.
  • Assist circuits in LWMS outreach activities within the area.
