Zoom Room Fellowship #1: Sisters of the Roundtable Discussions (Thursday, June 24, 2021 7 pm CT)
God gives us all gifts to use for the furthering of his Kingdom. We will help you consider what abilities you already possess that would be a great asset to your circuit or to an LWMS standing committee. We will host 60-minute roundtable discussions with each role type. Choose one of the following four discussions that best fits your current interest.
Circuit Officers: “Where there is no guidance, the people fall, But in abundance of counselors there is victory” (Proverbs 11:14). Leaders are important! Let’s talk about the tasks, blessings, and opportunities of being a circuit officer.
Zoom Room Fellowship #2: Symposiums for Sharing (Friday, June 25, 2021, 12 pm CT)
Reporters: “Since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you… so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught” (Luke 1: 3,4). Reporting was important in Biblical times, and remains so today. Join your sister reporters in discussing how to be effective and enthusiastic.
Standing Committees: A Look Behind the Scenes: “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us” (Romans 12:4-6). You may be surprised at the awesome ways that Committee Members use their varied talents. There is joy in service, especially when we can glorify God by using the skills he has given us.
Send One Sister: The Personal Impact and How To’s: “Be devoted to one another in love.” (Romans 12:10) Showing love to our sisters in Christ fills us with happiness, but it can be far more than just that. Find out how the Send One Sister program can help your circuit show love, increase mission knowledge, and strengthen sisterly bonds. Win, win, win!
LWMS would love your feedback on the following topics to continue to expand the LWMS network. Share your ideas and insights in any of the following three sessions, or just tune in to learn more! Choose one of the following three choices:
Befriend A Mission (BAM)–You’re an instrument of the Lord! The Befriend a Mission program provides opportunities to encourage our missionaries. You will never regret taking the time to befriend the wonderful pastors who shepherd God’s flock around the world. The missionaries won’t regret it either! What are some practical ways we can continue reaching out? “Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up” (Romans 15:2).
Zoom Room Fellowship #3: Heart for Missions (Friday, June 25, 2021, 7 pm CT)
Don’t work harder. Work smarter. Use kids c.a.r.e.! “?His kingdom is an eternal kingdom; his dominion endures from generation to generation (Daniel 4:3). When it comes to teaching future generations about missions, do you find yourself thinking “Easier said than done”? Thankfully, kids c.a.r.e. is a fantastic and ready resource for carrying on the necessary work of God’s kingdom. This workshop is ideal for anyone, but especially for teachers, Sunday School volunteers, parents, and grandparents. Leaarn about the 2021-2022 kids c.a.r.e. project Outreach to Roma.
Where do we go from here? LWMS in the 21st Century: “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few” (Luke 10:2). Hard fact: LWMS membership has been decreasing significantly in recent years. Is our work still vital? Yes. Is our mission still relevant? Yes! Do God’s promises still need to be proclaimed? Oh my, yes! Pray for God’s guidance as we tackle the difficult topic of how to continue the work of LWMS in the years to come.
“LWMS is women dedicated to serving Jesus by increasing awareness of, interest in, and support of the mission outreach of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.” If that sentence sounds familiar, it’s because it is the official LWMS mission statement! Grab a cup of tea, settle in, and get ready to be inspired by the faithful, brave men and women whom it is our mission to support. Choose one of the following four choices:
Q&A Mission Speakers: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19). This is what it’s all about! Gain knowledge and perspective as you hear from these missionaries about their lives and ministries.
Home Missionary Ryan and his wife Sarah Kolander will talk about mission work in Detroit, MI.
World Missionary Gary and Beth Evans will talk about their work with CAMM – Central African Medical Mission.
Missionary Wives Panel Discussions: “She brings [her husband] good, not harm, all the days of her life… She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks” (Proverbs 31:12, 17). Missionary wives face unique challenges, but they also see unique blessings. It is a role that is not for the faint of heart, nor the weak of faith. Be inspired as we hear from these courageous sisters in Christ.
